Feel confident that your students will get the best and safest camp experience possible. We’ve put together an excellent cohort of instructors to lead our sessions. Club:ASPIRE instructors are all:
- Certified K-12 classroom teachers in STEM fields
- Deliver adequate training and resources
- Have passed a background check
- Are proven STEM & STEAM enthusiasts–your students will see this too!
Warren Wise
Warren has been an educator for over 16 years, teaching Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Intro to Engineering, Graphic Design, and Middle Level Science. Warren is a recipient of South Carolina’s Inaugural STEM Educator of the Year Award in 2019, and SC’s NAACP Presidential Citation Award in Education Advocacy in 2019
Shirley Miranda
Shirley has worked as a software engineer and statistics and computer science teacher. She’s been a Teacher Fellow at UCSD COSMOS since 2007, received the National Council of Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) Educator Award in 2014 and 2018 and was San Diego County Teacher of the Year in 2016. She now works to create computer science education and experiences for transitional kindergarten through twelfth grade students.
Victor Yuen
Victor has taught at Broward County Public Schools in FL for 17 years and currently teaches 5th grade Gifted. He is a FIRST Certified Trainer, a FIRST LEGO League Robotics Coach/Mentor for 14 years, and a VEX IQ Challenge Robotics Coach for 2 years. His STEAM initiatives include Hour of Code and Minecraft Education Edition.
Desh Bagley
Desh (pronounced Daysh) is the founder of TechPlayzone, an after-school and summer camp for children interested in technology. With Desh’s influence on curriculum and programming, robotics programs have been added to the curriculum of Florida schools, become the focus for attracting students to urban schools, and has spawned the formation of robotics teams sponsored by libraries, churches, YMCAs and Scout troops. Desh is the 2020 FIRST LEGO League Volunteer of the Year.
Tim Garrett
Tim has been an educator for over 28 years, teaching Computers, Robotics, Honors Physics, AP Physics, Engineering and Honors Engineering at the high school level. He currently teaches at the Out of Door Academy and assists in developing/advising current STEM curriculums. Additional interest in 3D printing, 3D modeling, RC nitro vehicles, Arduinos, Raspberry Pi, and drones.
Sarah Rivera
Sarah has been a STEM classroom teacher for 8 years and has taught everything from Engineering to Biology. She holds certification with Google and trains others teachers in using technology at a local college. When she’s not working, she loves to spend time with her husband, son, and dogs, and is also an avid plant collector and runner.
